Schooner Liberty in Port Jefferson, NY
Philip
07/20/2009, Port Jefferson

The crew of the schooner Liberty had a blast in Port Jeff. Our days were packed and busy, but we still got some time to enjoy the wonderful village of Port Jefferson. We were warmly greeted and welcomed to the village by many of the residents, and we look forward making many new friends. In particular I would like to thank Mayor Margo, Charlie from LISEC & Ron from the Visitor's Center in the Village , and many others for making our visit so successful.

We stayed at the new floating dock built by the residents especially for a tall ship. We are honored they chose us to represent the village, and will be back soon.

Pirates Camp at Shelter Island
Philip
07/14/2009

While sailing in Long Island Sound, we were invited to be a pirate ship for a summer camp on Shelter Island. The kids had a great time, learning a lot about themselves, gaining confidence and having fun. You are never too young to become a leader.

Crew's Day Off
Mike
07/13/2009, Greenport, LI

Hi
this is Mike again. Yesterday the crew of the schooner Liberty went out for breakfast at the Coronet. In the picture is the happy crew, clockwise from left, is me, Tony, Philip, Sharon, Ruthie, Judith, Captain Bill, and Luke. I had a two eggs scrambled with home fries. After breakfast me, Philip, Luke, and Captain Bill went to the boat yard right around the corner from the Coronet. After that we went to the beach on the dinghy. Since the dinghy only holds four people we had to take two loads back and forth to the beach. When we first got to the beach I got to drive the dinghy all by myself. When I was on my way back to the beach the engine shut off and I was drifting towards the rocks and I didn't know what to do because, the current was push me onto the rocks and Philip saw me and was running to help me to get out of the rocks. After that I put more gas in engine and the engine started up and came back to shore safely. After the dinghy incident the people that we met and owns the house front of the beach let me ride one of the dirt bikes and it was the greatest rides I've ever done. I had a great time with the Liberty crew.

Hi,
I'm Luke you probably heard about me last summer. I have a new story for you guys. I've found a big Osprey at Greenport, Long Island at a boat yard. The osprey was standing on a piece of the Twin Towers. Even a plaque of whats it about. It is in memory of those who died at Ground Zero on 9/11/2001.
