Hello,
It's Kevin. Yesterday wasn't such a good day. Mike felled into the dirty Hudson River, I flipped off of Sharon's bicycle, I had a headache and there was a thunderstorm. Ridding in the dingy and the water fight was good. We went to the fuel dock to get gas and was treated with sodas. When we got back, we rode our bikes down the ramp of the dock. That's when I fell. Josh, another crew member, was riding down behind me and the front wheel of his bike hit my back wheel and steer, uncontrollably, towards the railing. When my front wheel hit the railing, the bike, with me, flipped forward. I landed on the bottom of the ramp with the bicycle on top of me. At least I only walked away with a scraped knee and some bruises. Nurse Ruth and Nurse Sharon treated me. Then we went back out. We got to see the cigarette boat that was wrecked by a barge. We also got to explore the outermost part of the docks. We had a water fight. Mike was taking a seaman shower and he had soap in his eyes with a bucket on his head, Josh put the bucket on his head. He started to walk and fell in the water! He had to take another seaman shower. Later on, we got a tour of the Margaret and Deep Therapy. They were nice. Then, we took a seaman shower. After about two hours of sleep, Phillip open up our hatch and screamed, "all hands on deck!!" we ran outside and the rain was blistering. The shear coldness of the rain slammed against our body as we closed and covered all the hatches. After the that, I slept great that night.
There is said to be another storm later this Wednesday.

I'm Josh.

I came on board on Monday the 16th. My first impression of the boat was that even though we do work a lot, its really fun. The environment is laid back and relaxed and yet we still get work done. By the end of the week I hope to know a lot more about sailing and care and maintenance of a sailboat.

Hi, my name is Kevin. This is my first time being a crew member on the Liberty Schooner. My first time was exhilarating. There was so much work! But, in the end it was wonderful, after the work. The sunset was beautiful. During the time I'm here, I want to learn more about schooners.

Hello, my name is Derrik. This is my first time going sailing on the schooner. I have looked at the schooner but haven't ridden on it. My first time was so fun. I'm learning new ways to do things on a boat. Its fun to meet and greet people and I am going to have the opportunity to do it this week. This week I am a intern on the boat. I'm looking to have fun and learn new things. I'm looking to experience new things and meet new people.

We had a wonderful sail with the City Sail kids today. City Sail is an awesome organisation we have partnered with, that kids from Jersey City access to the water aboard boats. Check out their website at City Sail.

Hi ,
Its Mike again. For two days We were at Milford, Connecticut for a Oyster fest. On the way to our dock I got to see one of my favorite cigarette boats and I one of the fastest cigarette boats I've ever seen in my life. It was one of the most tiring cruises I've ever done with schooner crew.

Hi
this is Mike again. Yesterday we had a day off and I got to go to the Setauket yacht club sailing camp for three days on Wednesday, Thursday, and yesterday. It was the funnest times I had at the yacht club. I even learned how to sail a pixel for the first time on Monday. On Thursday last week for the first time at the yacht club Luke, me, and the sail instructor, Constantine, got to capsize the the boat and it was really cool. Later on, on our day off Luke got to buy us ice cream with his own money. The ice cream I got was a mint chip shake and that my favorite kind of ice cream to make as a milk shake. And I even got to ride the dinghy by myself around the the schooner.

Hi
this is Mike again and I'm back on the liberty schooner again for the next 2 weeks. On the first two days I was on the liberty was that Philip thought me how to throw lines so they can cleat the lines on the dock. Today I got to help capt bill clean out the toilet and It's going to be the worst jobs I have to do on the boat. And I got to take the lines off the cleats on the dock yesterday and I almost got left behind. Yikes!
