Out of Georgetown

29 May 2017
We are finally out of Georgetown and on our way north. After I returned from my trip home for the graduation we stayed another week in Georgetown. We had fun catching up with old friends. We had one final trip to Lumina Point for the delicious lobster pizza with Chris and Sue (s/v Nereus) who we met in Marathon and also with Dennis (s/v Spitfire) who we met on our last trip to the Bahamas. After a last trip to the grocery store and liquor store we were ready to go. We had a nice trip back down to Blackpoint. David hooked two mahi mahi . Unfortunately the larger one jumped up and threw the hook out just 10 feet from our stern. We did catch another, it was smaller than the first one but did provide us with 3 nice meals.

We spent a day in Blackpoint catching up on laundry and then moved to Staniel. Had some nice happy hours and a potluck on Pirate Beach. Unfortunately Memorial Day weekend rolled around and we got inundated with big super yachts with all of their jet skis, etc. and our nice anchorage was like being inn Florida on a holiday weekend so we moved back to Blackpoint. Nereus (Chris and Sue-see above picture) and us had the whole anchorage to ourselves.

The weather has been really nice. Have been spending a lot of time in the water. We will start heading back toward Florida soon, probably next week.
