This part of the conch is called the pistol. It is supposed to be better for a man than viagra. The Bahamians slurp it up raw like a piece of spaghetti (also called the noodle) while cleaning conch. We weren't brave enough to try it.

Getting it out of the shell

Nick's favorite food in the Bahamas is conch. While anchored in Pipe Creek he snorkeled around and picked up several conch. The following pictures show his first attempt at getting one out of the shell and cleaned. It was a lot of work but sure tasted good once cooked despite how gross it looks coming out of the shell.
