Colorful Norfolk

The Annapolis Boat Show was in full swing when we arrived there and we took the opportunity to purchase dinghy davits and solar power for Thistle. These then needed installing, which of course takes time. Plus we'd made friends on other boats. Between those distractions and seeking protection as Hurricane Mathew blew out to sea we loitered two weeks in this boating oriented town.

But we got the solar charging and the davits hoisting. Then we said our goodbyes and started working our way down the Bay. On the last of three hops instead of pushing on to Great Bridge, the terminus of our 2012 sail, we anchored across from downtown Norfolk and savored the sight of a fleet of daysailers glowing in the evening sun.
