Solitude in Georgia

We're in Georgia anchored in Duplin River behind Sapelo Island, one of many barrier islands that are a feature of this coast. Behind the barriers are the marshlands through which the waterway weaves. We're savoring the slow-going game of piloting Thistle through the winding rivers, cuts, creeks, and bays that here comprise ICW.
On previous day's we've periodically encountered bridges, marinas, other cruising boats, which we either pass (sailboats) or which pass us (motorboats), and other evidence of civilization. Today, over the course of 33 miles, we were alone save the herons, egrets, terns, pelicans, dolphins and other creatures that call these marshes home.
We feel very peaceful, very relaxed, and very fortunate to have made the decision to take the inside path, which, in these parts, is the road less traveled.
