Canadian Migration

Linda & Grinnell / Sunny & Crisp
We departed the Sassafras River this morning with no set destination, just a general direction. The shape of the bay and the direction of the wind would determine our course. Fluky at first, the wind settled down to 10-14 knots out the West. This gave us a great ride down and across the bay to the West shore, which may be more advantageous for tomorrow's winds.
Nestled in Whitehall creek, just North of Annapolis, Thistle again has as her neighbor a Canadian boat. We started encountering Canadians in numbers at Cape May. Since then we've noticed that perhaps half the crusing boats migrating down the East Coast are Canadian. We meet them in the quiet anchorages that we each appear to prefer.
