Goodbye, Lady's Island SC

26 March 2014 | Factory Creek off Beaufort River
Jill / sunny and chilly 45 degrees
Well, the time has come to start our run north.

As always, we enjoyed our time in Beaufort and Lady's Island! After attending church at Carteret St UMC on Sunday morning, we traveled a mile and docked at Lady's Island Marina for several days. We always enjoy the warmth and hospitality of Steve and the other boaters! Lady's Island is a great place for biking to all kinds of stores to stock up on food and other goodies. It's also nice to have hot showers and laundry facilities nearby. There were a few windy and cool days, so it was really nice having electricity to run the heater! Last night the winds blew over 35 knots and this morning it was a chilly 36 degrees. Fortunately we had the heater running, so it was 58 degrees in the cabin. Nice and toasty warm!

The wind calmed this morning, so sadly, it's time to leave the marina. The sun is shining and we're SAILING out Coosaw River. Love it when we can turn off the engine and just sail!!! From now on, we'll be traveling most of the day rather than going short distances to explore the areas. It's all part of an amazing journey!
