As we rounded the M12, there came a squall warning for the Georgian Bay area. Steve and I prepared for the system that was engulfing us. It was as usual, we were caught in the middle of her. We started up the motor and headed to the safety of the inner channel (5 knots only)! It was only a short 2 hours to Browns Bay, so we left the motor attached to the dinghy. Not a good practice and we know better. Swirling wind, waves and piercing rain . . . not to worry, as I said, it is almost expected. We knew the weather was predicted to be in-climate, but we really needed to go! I was a bit teary eyed as we left. It had dragged on too long. We said good-bye to only a handful of people that we knew. Most had already left for home or out for their holidays. It was a perfect time to leave...not too big a crowd...actually not a crowd at all.
Thoughts swirled through our heads. Dutchman's had been so good to us, and as Steve and I left, we felt sick to our stomachs. We felt that there would be no way that we would ever find a better place to call home. Bob and Linda have been so good to us and the people whom also call Dutchman's their home are so great to have as neighbours. There is always help when needed, and if you needed a tool or advice, you'd get more than enough to get you through. We will miss everyone and everything about Dutchman's Cove Marina.
