Day 14 Tuesday November 3, 2015
Rain oh yea and more rain. Did I say rain? More rain. So a few more projects around the boat. Looks good but iffy for tomorrow. We will see in the morning. Susan and I took the golf cart "out in the rain" this morning to go to the store Just for some lettuce. But as things change sometime we forget what the primary mission was. The primary mission was to not get wet in the golf cart. And, with that we went to the store got a few things and ate lunch at the Ocracoke Oyster Company. When we got back to the boat we had several things from the store. But, no lettuce. HA.
We had discussions with the boat in front of us about eating dinner at The Back Porch Restaurant. But the Back Porch decided to close for a town party being held for the merchants. But they will be open tomorrow when we are GONE. Oh well we met our neighbor boat “Moment Of Zen” a sailing catamaran. Jody and Rick Schroath and their dog Bendi had us over for dock-tails and conversation before driving our golf carts in the darkness back down to the Oyster Company for dinner. Jody writes for the Chesapeake Bay Magazine and had a wealth of information about new boating apps. and boating in general.
After getting back to the boat I evaluated my boating apps and updated some, downloaded new NOAA charts for the iPad and MacBook. The next thing I knew it was 1:30AM . My Internet connection was slow so I finally gave up and crashed into bed.
Tomorrow we leave Ocracoke and head across the Pamlico sound to Oriental. I hope the weather Gods keep their word in the morning. I hope I wake up in a timely manner to get underway in the morning.
Today’s picture is a cormorant invasion. Suddenly near dark a huge flock of cormorants invaded Silver Lake.
