Day 46 Saturday, December 5, 2015
Sunbury Crab Co. Restaurant & Marina, Sunbury, GA
Well, we didn’t move today. Wind forecast was 25-30kts, and, we don’t think there is a marina within a day’s cruising range. I’m not anchoring in 25-30.
With this unexpected layover day, we decided to get the courtesy car and travel to the IGA, nicknamed ‘Igah’ by locals, for a few staples.
Elaine said they had to clean the car before we used it. It was a Chevrolet Blazer that had a window that would not go up and had lots of boat parts scattered about. They put towels all over the seats. No telling what was on the other side. Too funny. Off we headed for the IGA in Midway, GA, wherever Midway, GA is. It’s funny pulling into a marina and not really having any land reference.
Ah, we found a Dollar General and bought some ornaments for the lime tree. It’s going to be our Christmas tree. We also got a 3 pack of battery candles for the the windows. Which 3 windows will get the candles and how to make them stay in windows that have no sill are still issues to solve.
We got a treat for a bath tonight. The bath house at the marina is the pool guest house. That was special for sure and then we ate at the restaurant again tonight. Everyone that works there is super friendly. We felt really like family. Again another place we feel we could move to..
Tomorrow, Sunday, we are going try to make a run to the first FISH CAMP on our journey. The winds are still forecast at 20-25kts out of the NE tomorrow ( Sunday ) and only subsiding to 15-20kts tomorrow evening. I really want to be at a dock tomorrow night.
Today’s, picture is red sky in the morning. Yikes sailors take warning.
