Passage - Roland Martin Marina, Clewiston, FL to Indiantown Marina, Indiantown, FL

8.5 engine hours 38 miles
After grabbing a breakfast sandwich at the marina restaurant, we were off for the remainder of the rim route of the Okeechobee. As we got the boat turned to head back into the Clewiston lock, we saw a large iguana sunning on a concrete wall. We negotiated the lock just fine with no incidents. But the wind was already starting to pick up as forecasted. We’d seen 25 knots much of the day before and of course it’s always on our nose to slow us down. It was an overcast day and much of the rim route has the Herbert Hoover Dike under construction. We entered the Port Mayaca Lock and that dropped us about 1’.
All of a sudden we got a call on the radio as we were exiting the lock from motor vessel
No Snow. Only the vessel was nowhere in sight. Our friends, Ron and Donna from Canada had driven to see us lock through. Only they hadn’t made it in time. So, they drove down to the railroad bridge and waved us on to their marina in Indiantown.

Today’s picture is Ron and Donna on the railroad bridge.
