Day 16 Thursday November 5, 2015

Passage Ocracoke to River Dunes Marina, Oriental, NC
7:30 AM Underway
1:02 PM Docked slip A25 River Dunes Marina
35 miles 6.5 engine hours

Rain, chilly, hot, rain, chilly was the passage.
However, the AC was needed as soon as we docked at River Dunes. This marina gets 5 stars from me for everything. The dock hand knew how to properly cleat our lines. Sprung the boat fore and aft. After dock people leave I always retie the boat. I’ve not touched any of the lines the guy tied. This marina is the prettiest, cleanest well kept up of any I’ve ever seen. Kind of reminds me of the Orient Express resort in Keswick, VA. And steam showers. Never had one of those before. Really nice. Wonderful yacht club and restaurant. We ate there tonight and it was light fare, chili, salad, cornbread and german chocolate cake. We were just going to stay one night, But I’m thinking two. It’s Morehead City after this. But we’ve got some bad weather coming Saturday night. So, Not sure where we will go next.

Today’s picture is a shrimper in the Pamlico headed toward the Neuse River. More fresh shrimp!
