Day 107 Thursday, February 4, 2016
Bayside Marina
Breakfast at Lorelei’s http://loreleicabanabar.com We usually WALK to Lorelei’s for lunch or dinner. But today, we decided to have breakfast and instead of walking, we went by dinghy, which is more fun if the weather is appropriate! You ride very close to the water, like a canoe or kayak. It’s also very nice having the 1.8HP outboard motor move us along through the mangrove islands so we can look down to see the bottom in this crystal clear, VERY shallow water. We see fish, sea grass beds and varied crustaceans. This morning was a perfect day for breakfast by dinghy. Wonderful breakfast and another ride back to the marina.
There’s lots of stuff going on back home that needs closure. You can’t really get away for six months without a support system. Checking on our mail, house and vehicles are some things with which my brother Eddie and some neighbors are helping us. Our main credit card stopped working and we are expecting new ones today. Thank goodness, knock on wood, this card has not been compromised, the company just sent us an enhanced security version! Life goes on, just at a distance. One nice thing is not having ANY appointments!
In the afternoon the temperature was just wonderful and it was still sunny! We took a nice walk around where the Netflix show Bloodline ( http://www.tvguide.com/tvshows/bloodline/712532/ ) is filmed. One needs to walk on shore, or joints become sore and clothes tighter. You can’t function on a boat if you are not fairly nimble. Therefore, we try to walk to keep our health up and our weight down.
I checked the weather and today is going to be the last nice day for some time. Lately, we have been having the kind of weather we came here for, so, we decided to take one more late afternoon dinghy ride. It was most enjoyable. Again, we crept through some very narrow and shallow mangrove channels. It really is fun exploring these things that can only be seen by dinghy or other shallow craft. We had a very peaceful time and soaked in the beautiful afternoon.
Today’s picture is me on our morning dinghy cruise.
