Plans for 2010

In April/May, Ju will be spending a month sailing from Messolonghi, in the Gulf of Patras, round the Peloponnese to Crete, with friends. Meantime, Liz and crew will be sailing Little Else back to Scotland from Lagos, Portugal. After a month or so reacquainting ourselves with West coast waters, we are off to Porto Santo, Madeira to crew for a friend back to the UK via the Azores, aboard her Victoria 38 Tamar Swallow. And in August or September, there are tentative plans to go to the Med crewing for friends as they sail back to Lagos from Greece. (Continued...)

March already!

Portugal's worst winter for years, nay in living memory, continues. One nice day this week, Monday, now back to strong winds and rain. Madeira recovering slowly from its horrendo us flooding. We recognised a lot of the locations in Funchal shown in news reports from our time there last year. What devastation! (Continued...)

New boom fitted!

Well while I'm still in Scotland, things have been getting busy in Lagos. Ju reports that Pete and Ralph fitted the new boom and rodkicker on 29 January, bent on the mainsail and wired up all the reefing lines, ready for us to lead them all back to the cockpit. Easier reefing in future, hurrah! Fine tuning remains to be done by raising the sail in anything but a north wind (which hits the boat from astern) to finalise the setting of the rodkicker. But then she'll be a different experience to sail! (Continued...)
