26/Jun/2011, North Wales
Wind and rain has been a regular occurence here for the past 2-weeks, not to mention rather a chill in the damp air. Today dawned bright and sunny... and warm as toast. Off to our daily sojourn aboard Spruce and more sanding, cleaning and wiring. The cockpit and ring deck will complete laying tomorrow and caulking is underway. The cable runs for new equipment are done and things are coming together.
Modifications to the fridge box have been finalised with a slight loss of volume, more insulation and a shiny white interior. Tomorrow we will install the new Frigoboat keel cooled system, much better for the tropics than the air cooled system we removed. The jobs still to complete list is whittling down and our transport southwards is booked for 21st July; launching on 29th July and, depending upon weather, departure for Madeira on about 5th August. Hurrah! The end is now in sight!

21/Jun/2011, Menai Strait
... yes we visited Bangor! A great store to buy tools and consumables along with fantastic views of the Menai Strait, the channel between Angelsey and the Welsh mainland. A short visit and back to doing boat jobs. Some things we needed to upgrade (eg Keel cooled Fridge) and others are just a matter of checking through the various systems and doing maintenance where found necessary....
