...Another breakthrough was finding a supplier of the gas cartridges required to fuel our new BBQ bought in the UK just before we left. It will be a delight to enjoy cooked food in tropical waters, without needing to heat the interior more than provided by the climate....

Exercise & Beautiful Sunrise

Traditional Music

Local crafts were on exhibit today at a nearby venue. Jewellery, ceramics and lathe work with wood to name by a few of the items displayed. On a small island this was evidently quite a social occasion, a chance for folks to catch up while children weaved in and out amusing themselves.

As evening approached the stage was the focus for a whole series of acts that continued on into the night. The sounds were neither Spanish, nor Latin American, but hanging somewhere between. Many people from these islands emigrated overseas to Spanish speaking countries: Venezuala, Cuba and Central America. As expatriates drifted home they brought with them an eclectic collection of cultural richness. The dress worn by acts was sometimes reminiscent of the Andes, the music held hints of the Caribbean, Salsa and Calypso. Another delightful experience amongst local people genuinely enjoying their own culture and not presenting a show aimed at tourism. It is wonderful how this friendly community welcomes visitors into their midst.
