Atlantic Row Boats Arriving

In Antigua last year we saw the rowing vessels recently arrived in the Caribbean after a three-month race from the Canary Islands. Well the first boats arrived on a trailer this week as preparations for the race in 2011 commence.

A couple of milestones today buried in there amongst the jobs. After fourteen years Sue managed to get Andy to start playing the clarinet again. He hasn't actually played for about 30-years... but Sue bought him a Boosey & Hawkes clarinet for his fortieth birthday and he has been "Going to get started soon" ever since.

Sue may regret this as she'll have to endure a long period of not so pleasant squeaks while the learning curve is assailed. The instrument is known to be of good quality. John (of Moonlight), a former professional showed that any deficiency inquality of sound emanating is not down to the clarinet...

...Another breakthrough was finding a supplier of the gas cartridges required to fuel our new BBQ bought in the UK just before we left. It will be a delight to enjoy cooked food in tropical waters, without needing to heat the interior more than provided by the climate....

A dive into the harbour is now scheduled for the morning to retrieve the dropped tongs.

Exercise & Beautiful Sunrise

Our morning exercise regime is now a routine. The alarm an hour before daylight was initially a bit of a shock but it is the only time of the day cool enough for us to feel inclined to do much more than swimming down here at sea level.

A brisk hike around the town and along the harbour front followed by a mini-workout on the exercise machines. A little warm and humid today with no breeze, but better than attempting it later in the day...
