Little Green Boat
Spruce left New Zealand at the end of May 2014. We had a wonderful time in NZ. We are now in Fiji and enjoying meeting the people of this friendly, welcoming country. In September we shall move west to Vanu-Atu, New Caledonia and on to Australia.
Hiking in the Sun

12/Apr/2012, Carriacou

A night anchored at Clarks Court Bay gave an opportunity to drop in at Roger's Bar - Hog Island on Sunday evening. Unfortunately, we timed it just wrong; arriving as the festivities were completed. A beautiful near-full moon lit our dinghy ride home to Spruce, after enjoying a beer on the near empty beach as the plugs were pulled and the music died.

... An departure at first light from Grenada and we headed along the south coast and north past the leeward side of the island. A lunchtime anchorage at Ronde Island gave a brief interlude in the windward work while butties were munched. Then onwards to the island of Carriacou and Tyrrel Bay. A cooling swim and snorkel revealed limited marine life; although some active cleaning stations gave opportunity to view a variety of fish engaging in cautious symbiotic interplay.

The following day brought a long hot hike round the island to the main civilisation of Hillsborough, known to the locals merely as "Town". The sun at mid-day was directly overhead. A strange experience to be casting no shadow, just like Peter Pan.

The photo shows the view back to Grenda in the distance with Diamond Rock and Ronde Island closer.

08/Apr/2012, De Big Fish - Grenada

An evening together with friends from two other vessels: Pitufa (Christian & Birgit) and Mary Ann II (John & Julia), at De Big Fish. Music by a Reggae band, Ecstasy, and excellent fare with discounted "Happy Hour" beers from the kitchen of the hostelry.

Pitufa we last saw in the Cape Verdes, they came here via Surinam. Mary Ann II we have met in various places since the Canaries.
