Another great winter project - making new screens for the hatches using our new Sailrite sewing machine! It may be a little overpowered for this small job, but it worked great and introduced us to our new machine.

Had to replace the shaft and seals on both units. But before working on them I gave the more glamorous job of cleaning them to my son Jake :)

Removed the bowman heat exchanger, ordered new boot ends and cleaned inside and out of the tubes(a lot of gunk).....should help to bring the temp at higher RPM,s down

We motored up the Saint Clair river to the Chenal Ecarte and sailed back down the next day when the wind picked up.

We crossed Lake St. Clair today in just 2 1/2 hours! With reefed main and half the jib out, we were still cruising at 8.5 knots. Overcast sky and rain here and there, but no storms.
