Fort George River

After leaving St Augustine, the afternoon thunderstorms came with a vengence today. We were just below the St Johns River and we could tell we were not going to make our anchorage. We started looking for a back-up plan but to late the storm came crashing down 40-50 knots of wind and blinding rain. We moved to the west bank and droped the Rocna with 60 feet of chain, held great as the storm moved thru very fast. We pulled anchor and 10 more miles to Ft. George River to anchor for the night. This morning we took the dingy to Kinnsley Plantation, a restored plantation whose owner was a freed slave who then had slaves herself something I had never heard of before.
