LONE STAR'S RETURN FROM CAPE HORN
We successfully sailed down the Pacific Coast of South America, rounded Cape Horn, and are now working our way up the Atlantic Coast of South America.
Feels good to stop for a while

It has been nice stopping for a while, having the boat secure in a non-moving berth, shore power hooked up, and endless water from a hose on the dock.

We are currently moored at the Yacht Club Argentino in the city central area. We were granted a seven day free stay, and it looks like we will be able to extend for a few days. Yesterday, I just confirmed arrangements to stay at the Yacht Club Argentino, in San Fernando, about 30 kilometers north of here.

In addition, I finally did get a responce from the Puerto Madero Marina, and they do have a space available. I plan to go with the available berth in San Fernando. This is where the repair yard is, and all the service that goes with it. I also like the idea of getting out of the big city a bit, the San Fernando area is nice, with everything you could want available close by. I will probably need to buy a bicycle, and enjoy the area. We are due for a hauled survey, as well as needing hull inspection and bottom paint. Being close to the service facilities will be a big help, with our long list of repairs.

While returning to the boat from visiting the yacht club with our new friend Jorge, we stopped in a ship's store (first one I have been to in a long, long, time) and met German Frers, one of the top yacht designers in the world with countless winning racing yachts and the popular Swan line designs to his credit. It was an honor, I have sailed on many of his designs. He seemed interested in LONE STAR and offered to help us if we needed any assistance with getting a slip at the club. Very nice offer, and I hope to see him again and have him on board.

Matt has returned to Texas, and I plan to once I have everything settled. Needing a hauled survey might put a twist in my plans. I would prefer to do it when I return later this spring, however, I will need to get an extension on the request.
