Faith, hope, love ... an update on Mayday

We worry about stuff that we shouldn´t ... it's those completely unexpected moments that get us! Tuesday is behind us now - thank You God for your bringing my Nev back safely, thanks to Iron Maiden, Pacific Pearl, Anon, PuddyTat, Tis Magic, Pyxis, Matilda, The Mexico Navy, the US Coastguard, and every one who was praying for us and helping in any way - please forgive me if I forget to mention your names! If I had had my wits about me I would have kept a record of everyone helping - just wasn´t what was on my mind at the time! Heck, I couldn´t even remember the words "Mayday"!! I just said "I NEED HELP!!" Amazing how the mind works (or doesn't) and the strength we have right when we need it - it´s a God thing! there´s no other way to explain it. Heather did a really great job describing what happend so I wont go through all the details again ... Nev and I have hashed it through a hundred times and know what we need to do differently if we´re ever in a similar situation. It´s been a good time of refelction for us and for everyone around us down here... unfortunatley isn't it the truth that most of us learn lessons the hard way!?? Other than the birth of Stephen and Christopher, I don´t think I´ve had a greater moment of joy in my life than when I saw Nev´s face at the Naval Base - just grinning from ear to ear across that sunburned gorgeous face! I cried every time I looked at him yesterday! I´m much better today (a little tearful as I write this) and he is feeling back to his old self - he was very achey all over yesterday. Thank God the day before we had lifted the dinghy and cleaned all the barnacles off underneath - he would´ve been torn to ribbons if we hadn´t done that. I am encouraging him to get on the blog and write his story for all of you - he is an amazing man! So strong!! Can you believe that in the middle of this drama he is sitting on the dinghy and notices how long his toe nails are! - proceeds to do an excellent job of trimming them with one hand while holding on for dear life with the other!!!
And then there is my mum - having the worst bout of sea sickness ever - she spent 5 hours on the loo poor thing! But yesterday she was smiling and back to normal and thanking us for the best week she´s had in her life!!!!
Thanks again EVERYBODY who was connected to this in any way - you are all angels.... we love you all xxx
