The sanctuary of San Juanico.

We did make it to San Juanico that night, a sleepy town on the Pacific that I fell in love with, a surfers paradise with long rolling waves.
It felt like a sanctuary for us to relax in and regroup after a long, long journey!
We camped up high on a cliff overlooking the bay, watched the sun set, enjoyed dinner at a little cantina with two guys we met from Mammoth who'd had their own harrowing journey that day (we laughed hard as we thought about the sign posts we would've posted along the roads), slept soundly and then walked the beach for miles the next morning before moving on.
I could've stayed here a long, long while.
