Signs along the way?

Today we left Oxnard on the first leg of our journey up north... we covered 30 miles on the water and 9 on land.
The weather was perfect and the seas calm... it took just over 4 hours for us to arrive in the pretty harbor of Santa Barbara.
We walked the beach north of the marina and were amazed at how gorgeous it is - a haven for walkers and doggie-lovers, paddle boarders and boogie boarders alike. I found a cowrey shell on the beach. It was such a random finding - not another shell to be seen on our 6 mile walk. My dad loved cowries. I took it as a sign that we had made a move in the right direction, and smiled all the way back to BLUE. Of course, Nev hiding out in the rocks gave me a good giggle too!
We walked another three miles to dinner and back tonight... bed never looked so good!
Off to an early start tomorrow as we prepare to round Point Conception.
