Trading Caution for Fury!

We are reminded, when we least expect to be, of some of lifes most inherent lessons. In this case it was the one that teaches us about the need to go through bad times to appreciate the good, the need to walk through the valley to see the view from the mountain top, the need for the winds to blow the clouds away in order for the sun to shine... bottom line: we had to get around Cape Caution to get to Fury Cove!
Our plan had been to spend the night in Allison Harbor (specially for my mum and our future daughter-in-law) and to round the infamous Cape Caution early the next morning. As we neared Allison Harbor the seas weren't bad, the winds 10 -15 knots on our bow. I was doing okay sans medication, so we made the call to keep going...
There is a reason explorer Vancouver named the point Cape Caution, and I discovered it!
Four hours later, in calm seas, we rounded the corner into beautiful Fury Cove and we were smiles all night as we popped the cork of a bottle of South African champagne and celebrated our own mortality! A slight exaggeration, but you get the jist?
Fury Cove had everything we've ever wanted: a beach, a potential building site, a spot for a mooring ball for BLUE, abundant crabbing and plentiful fishing just outside the bay, nevermind the gorgeous sunset! We could've stayed forever...
but Alaska beckons.
Nev did agree to two nights here and it was soooooooo good to feel the sun on our skins again, the kayak in the water, the companionship of kindred spirits as three boats arrived our second night and we gathered on the beach around a fire to trade stories of ADRI (just for you Dico!).
Seems fury can be a good trade for caution sometimes. I'm glad we did.
