A night at the White House

I never thought I'd ever stay at the White House!
On our trip home we spent the night on the Namibia/South Africa border in a large, old, white farm house that sits on 32,000 acres of land.
The family bought it in 1937 for R7,000 (less than $1,000 today!!).
The sunset over the bush veld was beautiful that night, and we all sat around a fire telling stories about our trip while dinner was being made for us. The guys held a mock trial about Arnie's driving schedule and we had some good laughs!
Dinner was serve family style and consisted of a springbok casserole, roasted lamb shoulder, Boere style roasted pumpkin and vegetables... what a meal, what a night!
Any doubts I may have had about Mags and I living on a ranch sometime in our future were wiped out that night... life in the White House is very good.
