A word about our Captain!

Hi everyone.
Turns out today marks the 35th anniversary of Nev's start date at Volutone, a huge detail that I was unaware of, in his true humble nature, until he casually remarked on the fact as I served him a halibut salad and a cold beer once we had sailed out of the rough waters of Clarence Straits into the calm waters of Nichols Bay outside Ketchikan!
Over cocktails this evening I asked Nev what he remembered of this time 35 years ago and here's what he told me:
"Stan had rented a warehouse in Tarzana for a long while hoping to get into Wholesale Sales, and he approached me about heading that up, and I took him up on the offer.
I made a catalogue of car and home stereo products in the "cut and paste" method of the day and worked alone for a year mailing my catalogues to dealerships I'd found in the Yellow Pages, closing the shop half days so that I could spend the other half visiting them and taking orders that I would go back and process, pack and UPS myself...
I had not come from a sales background but soon learned that that was the way to go when I figured I could make in an hour on a good sale what I could never make in a day on a time clock!
That was the start of what is now the fantastic Volutone Sales and Support Team that I could never have imagined, the same team that now carries the lines and recognition that we have in the industry, the team that has just broken all records ever set by the Company.
Thank you to the people who have come alongside me, some for a short while and others for most of the long, wild ride!"
Thank you to each and every one of you, past, present and yet to be, and to our Trevor of whom we could never be more proud!
We love you all.
