A beautifully long day.

Happy birthday Mum! Happy birthday dear Leslie P too :)
Today was a beautifully long day.
We covered 72.6 miles, most of it up Jervis Inlet, thanks to Donald Miller who wrote "A thousand miles in a million years". In his book he talks about kayaking up the Jervis Inlet and meeting Bob Goff....
I wanted to travel up Jervis Inlet and meet Bob Goff too...
anyone who has read Bob's book "Love Does" would want to too, I'm sure.
As I researched it more I discovered Princess Louisa was at the top of Jervis Inlet and described as breathtakingly gorgeous...
and I wanted to see that too.
We shared the time at the wheel... I made bread and oatmeal chocolate chip squares... Nev snoozed sometimes... the scenery was green and dramatic...the time flew by.
But when we arrived at Malibu Rapids at 7pm they were running too fast for us to go through, and so the cute kids at Malibu Club, a Christian camp for kids run by Young Life, caught our lines and assured us we were welcome to spend the night there... many boats do!
And so we did...
they took us to their worship service and we stayed for a song...
and we looked at the rapids again thinking we'd go through later but it got too dark and dangerous and so we slept under the safe watch of a cross shaped totem pole...
excited to wake up!
The picture is of Bob Goff's place and especially for you dear friends, Connie and Juie... I know you would've wanted to be there with us too :)
