Soaked in the San Juans!

Today was our last full day out at anchor together on BLUE.
As we crossed from Sucia Island to Cypress Island the winds gusted up to 25 knots and light rains surrounded us.
Within minutes of dropping anchor the heavens opened and we experienced a downpour of rain that was stunningly loud!
And so we happily cuddled together on the sofa watching the last episode of "Downton Abbey".
But then the sun came out and the trails of Cypress Island beckoned.
The anchorages here are a little more challenging and the island is more isolated than most because of that.
We packed up our backpack with wine and snacks for the anticipated sunset at Duck Lake, but had hardly gone 15 minutes when the clouds regathered and dropped buckets of icy rain down on us!
I couldn't stop laughing!
We were thoroughly drenched in a moment, and it made absolutely no sense to run back to BLUE, so we continued on and I loved every step, convinced we were being thoroughly blessed as we prepared for the journey ahead!
Hot seafood soup for dinner was the perfect ending to a chilly day,
reminding us of the chilly beginning we'd had only 3 and a half months ago :)
