The winds of change.

An hour and a half along country roads and the dunes along the windswept coastline took us to our hotel in Praia de Mira.
It could've been one of our favorite stops. Our hotel was funky and fun and nautical and young...
Our balcony overlooked the beach... The staff were sweet and helpful... But the winds continued to blow at about 40 knots, Nev guessed, and the ocean was wild and green and intimidating!
So we toddled off to the Supermercado, bought another suitcase and a couple of bottles of good Port, one of Portugal's largest exports, piri-piri oil and a few other last minute treasures, hauled everything out of the car and up to the room and proceeded to figure out how to get everything packed, especially the excess quantities of wine and spirits we hoped to get through customs!!!
We did it!!
And then we stopped in at "Sixties", an Irish Pub tucked down an alley where Nev was served a toasted steak and cheese sandwich smothered in gravy served alongside French fries topped with a fried egg!
He cleaned his plate, much to the owners delight...
And was fast asleep in no time when the wind blew us back into our room...
Me?
Sad that our fabulous time together was coming to an end too quickly!
The winds of change are blowing again xx
