Hoping for the best...just real glad your both ok. See you soon.

We echo Jerry! You've put so much of yourselves into Luffin It to help her meet your needs, and she's been so good to you as well. Will be thinking positively! Much love!

It's a good thing you chose a really seaworthy boat. It sure could have been disastrous. Have a good flight home, and thanks for keeping us posted.
We love you both! Luffin It Resting on the "hard"
D & D 03/07/2011, La Cruz Marina
Well, here she is, out of the water, and Darryl and I have climbed up and down a 20' ladder multiple times today, emptying her out and finishing the clean up. Our Surveyor arrives tomorrow to check out the boat and its damage.

Wow, what a way to end a cruise! Just glad you're both OK and had such great help during this ordeal. Luffin It didn't deserve to get beat up after the joy she gave to you. We are interested in the survey results.

So sorry to hear about your situation but glad you're safely in La Cruz. We'll be in the PV area until 3.18 - if there's anything we can do to help just say the word!

Wow, sorry to see such a thing. I am presently living aboard my own Pearson 365 on the Westcoast of Vancouver island. There are warnings on the dock bulletin board about this very thing.
I will be taking it much more seriously now! Good luck and hope for the best. Getting "Luffin It" out of water for survey
D & D 03/07/2011, La Cruz Marina
This was an amazing time. There was quite a crowd gathered to watch them bring "Luffin It" out of the water and onto land; and yes, that is Darryl and I on it while they lifted it up. It's Mexico, and things happen differently here.

OUr thoughts are with you. We saw the boat in the yard last week when we were in La Cruz. Our hearts go out to you guys...
Being towed into La Cruz by Panga
D & D 03/07/2011, La Cruz Marina
We finally make it to La Cruz Marina, taking double the usual time it would take, due to no winds and us having no motor capabilities. As we get to La Cruz, "40 Love" with Joel and Chris aboard, dropped the tow line and the Panga folks grabbed it and towed us into the dock space.
We arrive!
D & D 03/06/2011, La Cruz Marina
Picture is of us setting up the tow; notice the fog we ran into at 7 AM that morning.

WOW!! Sorry to hear about your encounter with the whale. Doesn't sound good for the boat. Hope you make it safely to PV and that you'll be sailing again soon.
As an aside, I just happen to be reading Moby Dick right now. Sort of on a classic kick. Bob 03/06/2011 | Mary
So glad to hear you are safe. And fortunate to be in the care of such boaters! Best wishes as you travel to PV and begin the repair process.
03/06/2011 | Jerry and Stela
please let us know your progress...

Donna, we are reading with fascination your blog. The whale encounter is amazing! So very glad that you are safe. Hope the boat repairs are manageable. I love your entry: "we don't blame the whale - neither of us saw each other..." So well said. All the best and keep us all posted. Love, Petra

Ronnie shared this with me. Wow, what an event. Never knew whales could be so violet. Glad you are both safe. JJ

Hey Rev,
I suspect that when you had the boat hauled the last time the bottom painter embedded a message. Probably something like " Whales Suck" or "Plankton have rights too" What ever. We're glad your safe. Jerie and Nancy |
