LONG WHITE CLOUD
Paula and Stephen Pepperell sail the world on their 45' Herreshoff mobjack Ketch 'LONG WHITE CLOUD'. Over the past six years. Long White Cloud has proven to be a fast yet comfortable cruising yacht and is custom built of New Zealand Kauri.
Smooth sailing...

31/10/09, Enroute to New Zealand (via Minerva Reef perhaps)

We left Ha'afeva Island, Ha'apai, Tonga this morning at 0800 hrs heading toward North Minerva Reef. We will stop there if the weather is not good for a direct trip home. This is as near perfect sailing as can be....flat seas, bright warm sunshine, 12 knots on the beam, everything up and making 7 knots toward our destination....long may it continue!

An enjoyable week with our Grandson and his Great Grandad...
Paula
14/10/09, Vava'u, Tonga

We have just had an amazing week with our Grandson Eden (7) and my father Peter (87). Both did extremely well on board and luckily Tonga fronted up with some of the best weather we've had so far. Eden enjoyed himself and picked up driving the dinghy within the first 5 minutes of being here, he snorkeled, swum, drove the yacht, played on the beach with other yachtie kids, played and won dominos, nearly beat his Poppa at Backgammon and loved going fast being towed on the 'biscuit'. There were no tears or grumpy moments in the entire week and that goes for his Great Grandad too!

If you're interested we have more photos of their stay with us in the photo gallery.

Being a bit slack...
Paula
10/10/09, Vava'u, Tonga

If anyone has been looking for updates on this blog and noticed that it hasn't been happening very regularly it's because we are having way too much fun. The internet is only available in Neiafu and we are only 'in town' briefly, to race in the Friday night race (came in 2nd last night) and to provision, spending most of our time out in the outer islands.
