Fast Passage to Vero
16 March 2016 | Vero Beach, Florida
Beth / mid 20's, wind less than 10knots
We not only made it to Lake Worth on Tuesday, we dropped the hook there at 8:30 a.m. We sailed and motor sailed in record time - to Marathon on Sunday, and a 25 hour passage to Lake Worth starting Monday morning.
We went back out the Lake Worth inlet this morning, (Wednesday) motored up the coast and in at Fort Pierce, and still had time to get to Vero Beach before dark.
That trip to Marathon from Key West was the best kind of a passage. Engine on only for exits and entrances, and all the rest was beautiful, brilliant, peaceful sailing! The water was a milky turquoise, the wind was on the beam, dolphins visited, and all was well in our little world.
So many slow passages, and then quick, quick! We will be here in Vero for a week.
