Day 23 and week 3 stats

04 February 2011 | South Atlantic
Casey
Week 3 stats have really taken a beating. Miles to Go- 1390 Miles made good- 1966 Total miles sailed- 571 Average miles per day- 81 Average speed- 3.4 kts (not good) Average wind- 15kts Max wind- 35 kts Calm- 12 hours Best day- 106 Worst day- 22 Engine hours- 0 Heater hours- 0 Fuel consumed-0 Fuel remaining-239 liters

With an 18 hour calm and a full day of strong head winds all of the averages have gone down. Unfortunately the weather forecast for this week is showing lots of light to calm wind so progress again looks to be slow. Currently we are in a region of unorganized high pressure which means that the weather is quite nice, but the wind is very light and shifting direction frequently. Hopefully the South Atlantic High will reform itself in the position that it was located for most of the summer, and whose position we used to plan our route. But if we have to wait, we will wait since we dont have enough fuel to motor all the way. (Jamie is making peanut butter cookies in the meantime!)
