PICTURE OF NEW YEARS CAT LITTLE ZIHAUTENEJA
We miss family and friends and really love your e-mails and comments on our blog, thank you for keeping in touch. As we work on our retirement adventure "Dreams into Reality".The cruising season was shorter this year; the flu season hit us hard keeping us in Marina San Carlos harbor bond for several months. During that time we were able to slowly upgrade Magic Carpets systems. Five years at sea takes its toll on a boat. With our health restored and our boat bright and shiny we sailed south nonstop to Banderas Bay & Puerto Vallarta. A fantastic passage it refreshed our love of the sea. "Ever beckoning wild & free - The call of the wind the song of the sea" We felt it all! Once again we traveled inland getting to know our neighbors south of the border. We were amazed with the history & culture and way of life. The beauty of old homesteads, villages and towns. The ingenuity of local farmers, brick makers, furniture makers, tile makers the pride of local culture centers and yes the tequila makers. The beauty of the simple local churches and the grand cathedrals all amazed us. The music enchanted us, the jungles were nothing short of spectacular, the sounds and colors the marine and bird life captured our fantasy. This was why we had sailed south out of San Francisco Bay and put our past life on hold. With hurricane season approaching we left the Mexican Riviera main land exposure to the Pacific Ocean and sailed north to the protection of the Sea of Cortez. It was like returning home the warm clear blue water with the visibility sometimes over 100 feet, great fishing, diving & snorkeling. The sea welcomed us with its peace and tranquility - most of the time! Mother Nature was violent at times. This season Magic Carpet hung tight through seven chabasco's and was in her home berth at Marina San Carlos during hurricane Oldie. Our time on the Mexican Rivera was to short, we dream of sailing farther south in 2015 and exploring both the land and sea. We look forward to hearing from you and wish you health & happiness! Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! Donna & Greg, norell49@yahoo.com
