We departed last Tues morning form Nassau and made our way motorsailing across the Yellow Banks to Shroud Cay. There we met the crews of two other Admiral catamarans for sundowners. The following morning we sailed for the first time without the engins, a beam reach in 15 knots of wind resulting in 9 knots of boat speed. We arrived early afternoon here at Warderick Wells. The moorings are in a small tidal creek with reefs under our boat. We've been doing volunteer work at the park each day, I built a custom TV stand/box for the rangers back deck which they were very excited to install as they are all NFL football fans and we very gratefull for my work. After we installed the TV they hosted us for a BBQ while watching the playoffs on the TV and an amazing sunset on the water. Yesterday while Katie was working Hoku and I were going to swim/snorkel from the boat to the sand bar as we got into the water I saw and 8-9 foot long Tiger shark swim by, we decided to take the dingy instead of swimming! Hoku stepped on a conch shell and cut her foot so yesterday so she can't go in the water for a few days. We'll be here a few more days before heading south to Staniley Cay and Thunderball grotto where they filmed James Bonds Thunderball and the movie Splash.
