We departed Maine waters in mid Sept. as winter arrives early there and sailing in October from there can be "challenging". So after delevering the boat to the Chesapeake we had time kill before venturing further south. So we decided to spend two weeks camping in Disney World. I drove our truck down and met Katie and Hoku at the airport in Orlando where they flew in from Wisconsin. If you've never been to DW its a great place for adults and kids in addition to the four theme parks are two water parks. We saw live entertainment from Howard Jones, The Pointer Sisters and Sister Hazel, went on tons of fun rides with Hokus favorite being the upside down in the dark roller coaster with Areosmith music blasting. At Epcot met up with Robin and Corbett from Cookie Monster for a day enjoying the Food & Wine Festivel as they just arrived in Florida via their car avoiding the snowstorm up north. They kept Cookie Monster in Florida for the summer and will relaunch and head to the Bahamas. The weather was great in Florida and primed us for our trip south aboard Makana.
We are now back in Solomons MD and hope to head south in the next day or two after completing a few boat projects and sorting where to keep our truck for the winter.
