Cold!

We had an interesting 24 hour period aboard Makana. We departed the Dismal Swamp after sunrise. Upon leaving the south lock and around the first bend in the narrow Turner Cut we encountered the Coast Guard upon which they decided to board us for an inspection. You would expect to encounter the Coast Guard in the oceans or possibly the larger bays and sounds not 10 miles up a narrow fresh water canal. Two officers came aboard and conducted a their inspection which we passed with flying colors.
After the inspection we motored in the 25-30 knot winds to tie up at Elizabeth City. The following morning we awoke to an inside temp. of 43F and when we ventured on deck discovered a layer of ice which made getting around "interesting". The above picture was sunrise in Elizabeth City.
