Tropics
15 January 2012 | Thompson Bay, Long Island
Rick
We spent Thur. the 12 snorkeling with our friends. Once the crew was out of the water I returned with my spear and had my best day yet. I speared 9 lobsters and found 2 conch which brought my lobster total to 14 and conch 8. Later that evening we had lobster dinner aboard Cookie Monster with as there called here a "bug" for each person. The following morning we departed and had a great sail in 15 knots of wind on the beam with a picture perfect day. And once we had our anchor down on the west side of Hog Cay which is just off Long Island I scored lobster number 15 on a nearby reef.
The next day we departed and sailed south crossing the Tropic of Cancer at 23o 27'5 N which officially puts us in the tropics. Today I went for a long bike ride on Long Island while Katie and Hoku went to church. The above picture was taken off Hog Cay in 10 feet of water.
