On return to La Linea niece Emma and boyfriend Sean came out for a short break staying in a hotel in La Linea before moving on to explore Tarifa. Great excuse to revisit the Gibraltar sites. This time whilst up the rock we also saw St Michael’s cave and the defensive tunnels inside the rock, all very interesting. They actually have concerts inside the limestone cave chamber among the stalagmites and stalactites.
Yvonne then managed to have her Magnum stolen by an ape who carefully removed the chocolate before munching the ice cream!
The following day our daysail round the rock turned into a bit of an adventure. We saw some small sharks on the way there, but after a swim the wind and waves got up. Lunch was abandoned and we had to fight our way back round to the Marina in 20 plus knots of wind. Fortunately Emma and Sean are used to being at sea, albeit in ships, and retained their good humour throughout.
