DAY 25 SARGASSO SEA
02 May 2012 | On the way to the Caribbean
david
Roughish day here north of the equator. Im still quite struck by that demarcation line...everything south of the line was calm and quiet and...predictable. Since leaving that line to the south, its been rough, strong swells and...unpredictable...every day, a different sea state.
As we follow our rhumbline NW, we now intersect with line after parallel line of Sargasso Weed heralding our entrance into the Sargasso Sea, this region of the western Atlantic between the Azores and the Caribbean. I am told this is the breeding place of eels from the rivers of Europe and eastern North America...havent seen an eel though!
