Happy New Year, everyone!
I'll be back later to let you know where Hal and I ended up last night. But first I'll be battling traffic on US1 to pick up one beloved daughter of mine.
So, I'll leave you with the funniest New Year's Resolution I've heard yet:
New Year's Resolution: To tolerate fools more gladly, provided this does not encourage them to take up more of my time.

Tonight we have options. Lots of options. Key West goes all out for the New Year and Hal and I are all by our lonesomes for the evening. Decisions, decisions...

We could hang by Sloppy Joe's and watch the Conch Shell drop at midnight.

A second option is to hit the other end of Duval and wait for the shoe to drop with Sushi.

Finally, we could hit the waterfront at Schooner's Wharf and watch the wench fall from the crow's nest.
So, place your vote. Where should we hang tonight?
1. Conch Shell
2. Red Shoe
3. Pirate Wench
And no fair saying the boat. We didn't sail all the way to Key West to sit on the boat this evening and watch the ball drop in New York on some live feed on the computer. Not an option.

Wow! What a whirl the past few weeks have been! I hope you and yours have been having as much fun as we three have been. Having Hal home for such an extended piece of time has been terrific!
A trio of our favorite things from the holiday break so far?
* Coffee and Uno in the cockpit at sunrise.
* Taking time to soak in the sun on the foredeck.
* Grilling on the beach at sunset.
Off to add to that list of favorite things this week!

Just grabbing a moment to drop in and wish everyone the merriest of Christmas wishes tonight!

Marianna was thrilled to visit the Denver Museum of Natural History. She still adores dinos and can chat the ins and outs of various paleo-topics with the best of them.
\
I adore this photo for some reason.
Michelle and I. Check out my awesome scarf. For the first time in 7 years I got to wear a scarf and had so much fun doing so.
Simple pleasures, simple pleasures...

One day Marianna and I bravely drove through falling snow to meet up with Mary M. and her family for Mexican food (yum!) and a little fun at the Littleton History Museum. When I was a kid in Colorado, nearly every Sunday we'd drive down to Denver from our home in the high country for Mass and then meet up with various uncles and aunts at this Farm.
Old wheels outside the blacksmith's shop which is exactly the same as when my sisters and I were kids racing around the Farm.
Exploring the barn.
The peacocks were gorgeous in the snow.
I couldn't resist snapping a few photos.
Marianna enticed a little Tiger into dancing on the rim of a barrel.
Finally, a group photo!
We had such a good time! I was amazed at how little the place had changed, they've done a bit of expanding and my absolute favorite display of old clothes were gone but since they'd replaced it with a totally awesome Little Britches layout, I'll forgive them this once. Marianna had just finished reading Ralph Moody's book this Fall. We're having a heck of a time finding the rest of the series down here in tropic land but one day it may show up through inter-library loan, you never can tell!
If it wasn't for the threat of a certain hill on Wadsworth in the snow during rush hour in my aunt's vehicle I think we'd still be there - LOL! - we hated to leave. Thank you for the fabulous afternoon!

Pre-sunrise flying over Florida's Gold Coast

And then the sun came up.

Marianna and I in our first snowfall in years and years

And it kept falling.

Snowfall with flash on

And flash off.

I have loads of photos of this thermometer
because we're nerdy like that.

The next morning the snow came up

And it was beautiful!

Hal in a snowstorm!
Today we're home and in shorts, more updates throughout the week once I finish the laundry...

Just a bit of traveling in store for us over the next few weeks.
We'll be back with lots of pictures, I promise!
