Winter Sailing in Canada
Marla
12/01/2005, Howe Sound and Coastal Mountains

Here is a shot of the folks I work with and me sailing on Merdeka, a worthy cruising vessel, on a bright sunny and windy weekend at the end of November. We joined sailing friends out on nine boats all together and shared the beauty of the weekend and lots of good food and laughter. 2005

Marla happy with constant 15-17knots
11/19/2005, BVI

An amazing 10 days in the BVI and this first photo is me in my favourite spot: The helm in a good wind with a nice big boat under my bottom!! We had a 52' Dufour for this journey and 6 of us in total. Sunny skies and winds from the north the whole time. This photo is us reaching back up to The Baths at Virgin Gorda, one of our favourite spots because of the excellant snorkeling and views.

Nov.5/05 242 race
Marla in a squally day
11/18/2005, Vancouver to Snug Cove

Our last club race of 2005 was our all girls team of Loree, Penny, Francine and I. We had a blast and the 12-15 knots of wind helped our fleet get to warm and cozy Snug Cove in under three hours; just in time as the squall and 25knot gusts hit as we were tyting up. A great lunch break with lots of laughs ensued, we were 20 people all together ,and by the time our warming break was over so was the worst of the wind and we had a close hauled blast back into Vancouver. Love those 242's!!
