Canadian Thanksgiving

I grew up skiing and ended up working in that business for many years. I skied A LOT and the organic experience of that close connection to the snow, wind and feel of the skis on the terrain just an inch and a bit away from your feet is one of the biggest thrills you could ever have. Sailing a responsive boat in perfect winds is so close to that same thrill. The picture here is me on the helm and my crew sailing a C&C 36 named Palando Dragon in the October winds, Trincomali Channel, Gulf Isalnds, Canada. Loved that Day!!!

2004 and here is a shot of one of my dearest old friends being introduced to sailing..... he loved the helm, the water, the wind. We used to ski in the Canadian Rockies........ fast, good skiing. Now I like fast, good sailing and love it when I can introduce friends like Chris to this experience.

Here is a shot of the folks I work with and me sailing on Merdeka, a worthy cruising vessel, on a bright sunny and windy weekend at the end of November. We joined sailing friends out on nine boats all together and shared the beauty of the weekend and lots of good food and laughter. 2005
