We had a very smooth sail down to Fulaga. Captain Jerry planned it just right. The easterly wind blew gently from 12 to 18kts and the seas were flat. Yeey for the good guys. We sailed past beautiful islands and I wanted to stop in all of them but time, this terrible dictator, didn't allow it. We came to the pass into the lagoon by 4PM and the tide was already running out. The current produced by the flow of water thru the narrow pass was voracious, around 3kts. but it looked more than that. There are inumerous mushroom type formations of volcanic origin, eroding away by the sea and rain, scattered all around the huge lagoon. Our friends Steve and Michele, from the catamaran Citrus Tart are here and welcomed us over the VHF radio and helped us with choosing an anchorage spot. So good to see them again. It was too late to go to the village for Sevusevu and we couldn't do it today because it is Sunday. Steve reminded us that we are not to go anywhere until we meet the Chief and do the Sevusevu except for we could go to the Church service in the morning. We are going tomorrow morning to the village, meet the Chief and our host family. I can't wait to do it all. There is no telephone nor internet connection here. I am posting this via SSB radio. My Aloha to all.
