We are back

We left the Royal Norfolk and Suffolk Yacht club marina at 07:20h. There was very little wind but we were sailing at about 5-6 knots. However it was very foggy so we had a good play with the radar and AIS to keep out of the way of other vessels. The sun soon burnt the fog off and the wind came round onto the nose which meant that we had to motorsail so as to get into Titchmarsh with enough water.

As we rounded Orfordness and down towards the river Deben we were sailing well and soon the cranes of Felixstow container terminal came into view. The sight of the cranes was the last thing we saw when we left so we knew that we were nearly there!! within a couple of hours it would be over.

As it turned out we had cut it fine to get over the cill into Titchmarsh marina, and with the depth sounder alarm beeping and almost scraping the bottom, we were in. They had allocated us a tight berth but we got in OK.
