Ray up the mast again
28 November 2009 | Las Palmas Marina
Bit overcast and some winds
After a sleepless night last night Ray decided to go back up the mast to double check the masthead tang that he couldn't get a good look at yesterday. Don't want to be going up the mast to repair something in strong winds and big seas so....probably a good idea. It looked cracked so he took off for an expert opinion at the riggers shop down on the dock. They agreed it didn't look good and have ordered us a new one. As for me, I went off to the post office first thing this morning being driven by Daniel from Regina. We then went off to the fresh food market to get a few last minute things and then return the car. When I got back Ray gave me the bad news about the computer...none of Sam's games would play!! Aaaagh! guess we have to take it back if it can't be fixed. Sam enjoyed the company of the kids on Shakka Zulu again and they were very grateful for the movies we supplied them for the trip. Drinks on the beach again this afternoon and several boats are heading off tomorrow as the first wave of boats heading out. We would have been joining them if we hadn't had the rigging problems. I do want to be on land for Christmas so here's hoping we have a fast trip that gets us in before Christmas.
