She's looking a bit tired at the moment and needs a good clean and polish before we officially put Meander on the market but she's up for sale if anyone is interested.

Tracy is Milo's quarantine carer who I can ring between 9am and 4pm if I want to see how he's going. She said she wishes all the dogs coped as well as Milo and that's he's a 'happy little guy'. So that was comforting. Of course, they don't walk him and for the first week he was confined to his cell/cage. We found a company that goes in and walks dogs in quarantine and they've got some lovely pics of him looking happy and healthy on their website. I sent him down a bed that Sam and I had been sitting and lying on so that he could pick up our scent and Tracy said he was straight on it! I also sent him down some pigs ears to chew on in case he's bored. Only 2 more weeks to go before we can collect him. We're driving down and visiting people along the way. Poor little guy....he's been away from us now five weeks and must wondering if he'll ever see us again.

At 5pm tonight Meander dropped her pick in the Mooloolaba River ending a nearly 4 year adventure on the high seas. After the false start earlier this week, there was a crew change and Bruce returned to Brisbane and his work commitments and Sam stepped in to help bring our Meander home to her home port of Mooloolaba. At 8am this morning, she crossed the bar at the bottom of Fraser Island with the skipper having a few anxious moments with breaking waves, and the first mate remembering those early pangs of seasickness. Meander picked up a current en route and they had pleasant and fast sail at 7 knots bringing them in, earlier than expected, to anchor in daylight. Of course, it's not all over til the cute, fluffy dog with the enchanting underbite rejoins us some time in December so we won't end the blog til then.

Sam, I think it's great that you were able to crew for Dad on the final leg of this huge family adventure. Thankyou Julie for your dedication to the blog writing and sharing all the wonderful stories with us.
