9 March 2008, Monument Beach, Georgetown
We're finally leaving Georgetown after having collected our pack from Australia with the text books and finally having a weather window in our favour. This will be our final look (we think) at the lovely Bahamas in their most natural state. The Jumentos and Ragged Islands extend south across the Great Bahama Banks and the cruising guides make it clear - take everything because there's nowhere to buy anything. Couldn't get any green tomatoes to tide us through til Cuba so I guess the tinned stuff will have to be enough. We'll need to eat any beef or chicken before going into Cuba or at least boil the chicken, as they don't allow any of it in. That's going to be tough since I hear the lobstering in the Raggeds is pretty spectacular.

The houseboat has been on blocks at Kev's place for the last month or so. Had it transported from the ramp in the river just over 1km away. The boys have been very busy with deck repairs and fibre-glassing the roof. Painting is next. I can't wait till it's back in the water!
Happy sailing, Sue Ross & kids
